Colby Coombs
Colby is an entrepreneur at heart and has worked in a myriad of industries starting, growing, and building businesses since 2007. He began his career developing numerous healthcare-related businesses, including a long-term care pharmacy, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, home health, and hospice. He later started other successful manufacturing companies that have gained great regional and national reputations.
In 2018, Colby founded Mountain Life Ventures, a private equity company with projects in the western United States, and remains the principal of the company to this day. In connection to other companies, Mountain Life Ventures is a part of, he wears the hat of principal, CEO, founder, and sits on several boards of directors.
Colby attended BYU-Idaho where he worked through his Bachelors of Science in Business Management with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship.
Whenever he gets spare time, you’ll find him coaching his kids sports teams, serving others in his community, fishing, hunting and recreating in the backcountry with his family and friends.

Stephen Wood
Stephen has a passion for making improvements every day and being in the details. He has a breadth of experience in a variety of businesses. He has developed millions in real estate, built management teams for operating businesses, led teams through challenging and successful times, and built strong businesses. Stephen has been involved in the following industries throughout his career: student housing, auto dealerships, healthcare, land development, vacation rentals, construction, and others. With a background in accounting, he understands the nuts and bolts of business – and can see how each piece fits together to create a working, fine-tuned machine!
Stephen currently lives in St. George, Utah with his wife and 5 children. He loves to spend time with his kids on the lake, outdoors, and playing and coaching sports. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from BYU-Idaho and his MBA from Utah State University.
Director of Real Estate
Josh Peterson
Josh Peterson has been part of Mountain Life Ventures since May 2019. He oversees development projects and is involved in all aspects of development. This includes land acquisition, financial modeling, leasing, and disposition of assets. Josh also oversees StayEase, an Airbnb management company.
When Josh joined the Mountain Life Ventures' team, he brought 7 years of accounting and property development/management experience. He received a degree in Accounting from BYU-Idaho in 2012 and his MBA from Utah State in 2015. Josh enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors hunting, camping, and boating.
Controller
Brody Hansen
Brody helps prepare all the accounting work for MLV and its subsidiaries, works with various partners and business managers, and helps drive the financial success of each business. He works with the MLV team to help with financial modeling, development from start to finish, leasing, and ensuring profitability on each project. Brody Hansen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Brigham Young University-Idaho and his Master of Science degree in Accounting at Western Governors University. Prior to working for Mountain Life Ventures, Brody was a Corporate Tax Auditor at the Utah State Tax Commission and completed a tax internship at Envision Healthcare.
Brody grew up on a family farm in Nyssa, Oregon, and currently resides in Sugar City, Idaho. When he is not working, Brody spends his time with his wife and son and extended family, plays guitar, and golfs.
General Manager - Raspberry Island Lodge
Eric Ivie
Eric believes that hard work and dedication are two of the greatest attributes anyone can possess. After acquiring his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Idaho State University he earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah, both with honors. Eric runs Raspberry Island Lodge, a remote fishing lodge in Alaska.
Eric is a powerful force in the workplace and uses his positive attitude and tireless energy to work with others towards success. Eric is inspired by his wife, Sidney, and his daughter on the way. In his free time, he enjoys his adventures outdoors from camping and fishing to scuba diving.
Staff Accountant
Mary Killpack
Mary handles the accounting for multiple operating companies including Amend2 and Blue Mountain Cabinetry and Millwork. Mary has a knack for details and is extremely proficient in her work.
Mary currently has her certificate in Accounting and is working toward her Bachelor's in Accounting. She grew up in Idaho Falls and continues to live in Idaho Falls.
In her free time Mary loves the outdoors including camping, floating, traveling and exploring. She is an incredible grandma and loves visiting her grandkids. Also Mary's other passion involves horses, she loves riding and is certified in equine massage.
